Y Bwa is a Residential Care Home for adults who have learning disabilities, regulated by the Care & Social Services Inspectorate Wales. The home is situated in Ammanford and it is within easy walking distance of the town and all of its amenities. Y Bwa is registered for seven adults.

We aim to consistently deliver high standards of accommodation and care. Y Bwa has ground floor and first floor bedrooms and bathrooms, two en-suite bedrooms and two large lounges, leading onto a large patio area, where outside seating is available. Service users are encouraged and supported to personalise their rooms reflecting their character and interests. Service users are involved in the process of decorating their bedrooms. The home supplies all furnishings but all service users are encouraged to bring cherished items for their rooms if they wish. For those service users who are more independent there’s the availability of a snack kitchen located on the first floor.

Service users are supported and encouraged to maintain contact with relatives and other important people in their lives. Social events such as visits to theatre, cinema, outings, visits and meals are regularly arranged. Service users are fully involved in the planning stages of activities. Meaningful day opportunities are also provided along with regular visits from hairdresser and chiropodists. Families are encouraged to visit at all reasonable times. Y Bwa aim to provide a home for service users for as long as desired, but can also assist in the transition to other services such as supported living if this is more suitable.
